British National Formulary APA style

There have been a few queries recently regarding referencing the BNF.  Below you can find an example of how to do this in text and in the reference list.

Referencing the BNF (Printed/Website/App version)

In text:
Joint Formulary Committee (2018) or (Joint Formulary Committee, 2018).

In the reference list:
Joint Formulary Committee. (2018). British national formulary 75. London: BMJ Publishing and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

or

Joint Formulary Committee. (2018). British national formulary. Retrieved from             https://bnf.nice.org.uk/

or

Joint Formulary Committee. (2018). British national formulary / British national formulary  for  children (Version 1.3.9) [Mobile application software]. Retrieved from https://play.google.com/store

 

Referencing a particular entry (Printed/Website/App version)

In text:
“Paracetamol” (2018) or (“Paracetamol,” 2018).

In the reference list:
Paracetamol. (2018). In British national formulary 75. London: BMJ Publishing and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

or

Paracetamol. (2018). In British national formulary. Retrieved from https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/paracetamol.html

or

Paracetamol. (2018). In British national formulary / British national formulary  for  children (Version 1.3.9) [Mobile application software]. Retrieved from https://play.google.com/store
